Royal Life has such a helpful program! It a program that’s focused on coping skills and how you’ll handle life’s challenges and triggers when you get back out in the real world. Thank you so much to all of the staff! Andrea and Josh were very helpful case managers throughout the whole process. Shout out to Scott and Corynn as well.

The staff and people her were great! Learned a lot about myself here with the guidance of therapists, counselors and people trying to help themselves as well. Lots of different perspectives offered to me here through Native American culture and recovery education. Great place overall.

Absolutely blown away by the staff. While the facilities aren’t stellar, that’s not what we need. You get exactly what you need here and I’d recommend Royal to anyone looking to live a life in recovery.

Very supportive and knowledgeable staff and highly recommended by Smokey point behavioral hospital. I see why. I am grateful for my experience at Royal and am confident that I will have long term sobriety because of the tools they have given me. Great food, laundry, bathrooms, tvs in rooms and activities including gym, outside time and sweat ceremonies.

Went through opioid detox here in 12 days. Good staff for the most part. Medical staff was excellent. Program good but certain staff members would go thru your personal items when you were out of your room.

Does VA VAPCCC Cover Rehab & Mental Health Treatment?

Yes—if you qualify and receive authorization.

The VA Community Care Network was specifically designed to ensure Veterans can access timely, high-quality care outside of VA facilities, including behavioral health and addiction services.

Depending on your eligibility and referral, your plan may cover:

  • Detox and withdrawal management
  • Residential inpatient rehab
  • Partial hospitalization (PHP)
  • Intensive outpatient (IOP)
  • Therapy and psychiatric care
  • Aftercare and relapse prevention

In many cases, costs are fully covered or significantly reduced, depending on your VA eligibility status and service connection.

How to Use Your VA Benefits for Treatment

Getting started with VA VAPCCC Region 4B coverage typically involves a few key steps:

  1. VA Eligibility Determination
Your local VA facility confirms your eligibility for community care.
  2. VA Referral / Authorization
The VA must refer you to a community provider and approve services before treatment begins.
  3. Care Coordination via TriWest
TriWest helps coordinate your care with approved providers in the network.
  4. Start Treatment
Once authorized, you can begin care at an approved facility like Royal Life Centers.

Veterans cannot typically self-refer—authorization is required before services are covered.

Frequently asked questions

No. VA health care is a federally funded benefit, not a traditional insurance plan—but it can cover treatment costs when authorized.

Yes. The VA must authorize community care services before they are covered.

Royal Life Centers provides world-class holistic addiction treatment. We are a dual-accredited, full-service drug and alcohol detox and treatment facility network committed to treating substance use disorders in the safest, most effective way possible— from detox to outpatient. We always put the guest first, hire only the most qualified staff, and maintain top-notch facilities.

Within our full continuum of care, Royal Life Centers treatment programs start with medical detox where drug and alcohol toxins are removed from the body. Following detox, residential inpatient treatment continues the therapeutic practices started in detox. Following residential inpatient, you work through levels of care that include partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient programs (IOP). Once completed, you may continue treatment in our outpatient program (OP). Guests in aftercare and outpatient care can live in our sober living houses.

The length of treatment varies by individual. In general, detox services last 4 days or 8 days. Residential inpatient starts at 14 days. Our aftercare program extends for 12-weeks. Outpatient care is a customizable time frame. For this reason, guests can choose to be in outpatient for an undetermined amount of time, ranging from a couple of weeks up to one year.

At Royal Life Centers, we operate on a biopsychosocial/spiritual model. This means we collectively treat the mind, body, and spirit. Essentially, holistic treatment is the idea that multiple modalities of treatment are the most effective way to recover from drug and alcohol addiction. Our addiction treatment includes traditional and alternative approaches like individual therapy, group counseling, art therapy, yoga, mindfulness, and Native American healing traditions.

Our Admissions Process

1.

Contact us

You can call us directly, fill out an insurance verification form, or submit a request for us to contact you. Tell us a little bit about what’s going on, your name, and basic information for the individual who is seeking treatment if you’re not the person needing treatment. We will use this information to create a chart in our confidential EMR (electronic medical records) system, so that when you call back in, any one of our admissions coordinators can be able to find your information quickly and continue building the chart for your admission. This way your not repeating your story and needs over and over again if we’ve already spoken with you.

2.

Check your health insurance coverage

If you plan to use your health insurance to cover treatment, we will need to gather your insurance information. Health insurance is not required, so if you don’t have insurance we can discuss payment options for the treatment program(s) you have decided on. Our programs have always been affordable so that the cost of treatment doesn’t become a burden on families and loved ones. This step can be tackled in your initial call, or you the admissions process can be expedited if you verify your insurance online.

3.

Do a 5-10 minute pre-assessment

This pre-assessment takes place over the phone and takes a short amount of time. During the pre-assessment, the individual looking to enter our treatment program will be asked questions about their drinking/drug use history, medical history, motivation for treatment, and current health conditions.

4.

Pick a day/time

Schedule a date and time you would like to come into the facility to formally admit.

5.

Come to us
