Medical Detox

Our Medical Detox Centers

Royal Life Centers has been a leader in the drug and alcohol detox and addiction treatment field for years. Our detox centers are staffed by medical professionals, addiction therapists, psychiatrists, and other drug treatment specialists. We have all the needed experience, resources, and programming that you or your loved one needs to overcome substance use disorder.

Medication-Assisted Detox

Our medication-assisted detox program is based on a clinical assessment of each guest, followed by an approved medical regimen. Following the completion of their medical evaluations, we tailor each medical detoxification treatment plan to our individual guest’s needs. As a result, this ensures maximum comfort through withdrawal and safe, effective tapering off of substances.

As guests enter medication-assisted detox, our 24/7 nursing staff provides around-the-clock supervision. Likewise, our support staff guarantees access to treatment resources if a guest’s primary therapist is unavailable.

Without professional supervision and medical monitoring, it is too easy for complications from withdrawal from drugs and/or alcohol to develop, which is why a safe, structured environment like ours is essential. Withdrawal is much more than the physical risks, however; once someone with a substance use disorder has tapered off substances, they must manage psychological risks. Continued support in a treatment setting is critical if the results of a medical detox are going to last, as detox is the first, most sensitive step toward recovery.

Length of Detox

In general, our detox program is a 4-8 day program. With that being said, we continue our medical detox services until the treatment is complete.

The length of your stay in detox is dependent on many factors, including:

  • Duration of drug or alcohol use
  • Amount of drug or alcohol use
  • Substance or substances you were using
  • Physical health condition
  • Need of medication-assisted detoxification with a medical taper

Our medical professionals will meet with each guest individually and perform medical evaluations. These assessments assist in determining the best course of action for detox. After, each guest is put on a medical detoxification protocol that addresses and treats his or her specific needs and circumstances. No part of our addiction treatment is generalized. Instead, we tailor our treatment plans to meet the needs and goals of each individual guest. For this reason, the length of our medical detox program is dependent on the personal factors of each guest.

Therapy in Detox

Therapy is an excellent example of risk management. During detox, our addiction therapists facilitate group and individual therapy sessions to help guests create individualized treatment plans. Royal Life Centers doesn’t believe in a “one size fits all” mentality. In fact, unlike other treatment facilities, we don’t pair our guests with pre-determined treatment tracks. Instead, we place special emphasis on creating unique plans that meet each individual’s needs and goals for recovery.

In medical detox, group therapy sessions prepare guests for the next phase in their treatment plan and help address underlying issues that contribute to substance use disorder. Our group therapy covers topics ranging from self-discovery and emotion management to life skills-building and relapse prevention. The group therapy model promotes peer accountability and introduces guest’s to new perspectives. Guests also participate in one-on-one counseling with their primary therapist.
