The rehabilitation process for drug and alcohol addiction may seem overwhelming at first, but it is the most rewarding experience you can have for the betterment of yourself and your new life. At drug rehab centers, your substance or alcohol use disorder will be addressed through a variety of intensive therapies to help you overcome your addiction. At Royal Life Centers, we provide guests with the guidance, support, skills and tools that they need to rebuild happy, healthy, and meaningful lives in sobriety. Our goals are to prepare guests for a successful life in sobriety, with confidence in their capabilities and skills that they have learned, to make big transformations.
What is the First Step?
The very first step of the rehab process is understanding that your substance abuse is a problem, and then deciding to reach out for help.
Putting your mental health first and foremost is the most important thing you can do for yourself, as an alcohol or substance use disorder falls under the category of mental health disorders. Because the effects of alcohol and drug addictions will impact your mental, physical, and spiritual health— Royal Life Centers focuses on holistic healing. Along with reaching out for help comes finding the right addiction treatment center for you. When weighing your options for treatment, please consider the best programs for you by looking at centers that offer comprehensive addiction treatment, like ours. Comprehensive addiction treatment will fuse intensive therapies with a variety of services that will support you in each aspect of your life, and assist with anything like ongoing legal issues to applying for government aid.
The Next Step
The next step of the rehab process is attending a medical detox program. In medical detox, the guest will have stopped drinking alcohol or stopped using drugs, and be treated for their symptoms of alcohol or drug withdrawal. Upon arrival to our medical detox treatment facility, our intake process involves guests being assessed for their symptoms of withdrawal, and evaluated for any co-occuring disorders. At Royal Life Centers, we take an in-depth look at both substance abuse and mental health, so that we can fully treat each guest with the best course of addiction treatment for their individual symptoms and circumstances.
In our medical detox facility, guests are able to have a medication-assisted detox process, depending on their case. Withdrawal symptoms can arise roughly about 8 hours after you last consumed alcohol, with drug withdrawal symptoms beginning in a variation of about 12 hours after the last use— depending on the substance that was abused, in addition to a few other factors. At our medical detox, guests are under 24/7 direct supervision from medical professionals, because the detox process is so dangerous. Our medical detox creates a protective environment, and we make detoxification as safe and as comfortable as possible. Each guest plays a large role in their addiction treatment, starting in medical detox— where guests develop their own treatment plan in collaboration with their case manager and primary therapist. Our medical detox centers are especially effective, as we provide intensive therapies through out the detox process, to begin the therapeutic work of recovery.
Our rehabilitation process runs on individuality, because no guest is the same and we believe addiction treatment should be individualized to reflect that. Our process involves collaboration between each guest and both their case manager and primary therapist; together they build a treatment plan specifically tailored to meet the guest’s personal needs and goals. From medical detox, guests will be regularly meeting with their case manager and primary therapist to begin the work of recovery.
After Detox
After detoxing, guests who have completed our detoxification process are invited to enter our residential inpatient program. Our residential inpatient program is a 2-week program that continues the therapeutic work started in medical detox. In our residential inpatient program, guests will be living on our residences in the addiction treatment center of their choosing. Our residential inpatient program uses intensive therapies to continue the therapeutic work in uncovering the root cause of your substance or alcohol use disorder, address the impact it has had, and explore any unresolved issues— leading guests to a strong recovery. Guests are able to learn skills, tools, and coping mechanisms that will help them in their recovery process, as well as help them become better-equipped for any obstacles that arise in everyday life.
Our residential inpatient program offers a variety of intensive therapies, including: individual therapy sessions, group therapy, behavioral therapies, support groups, adventure therapy, activity therapy, and equine therapy. The intensive therapies we offer are proven effective methods of addiction treatment, and allow for self-discovery in this crucial period of early recovery. Our residential inpatient program is 2-weeks in length, unlike traditional 30 day programs. This is because our residential inpatient program is designed to fit in the recovery process, reflecting the period of new and very early recovery. During these two weeks, guests will be uncovering the root cause of their substance or alcohol use disorders, and learning skills, tools, and mechanisms that will set them up for the rest of the recovery process.
Our 9-week Program: Aftercare
After guests complete our residential inpatient program, they are invited to partake in our 9-week program. Our 9-week program is an aftercare treatment program that transitions guests from a partial hospitalization program to our intensive outpatient program. Our 9-week program is split up into three phases, with our partial hospitalization program (PHP) being the first phase. Our partial hospitalization program is less structured, but still provides a schedule of intensive therapy. In PHP, guests no longer need 24/7 supervision from medical professionals, but guests will still have access to medical professionals with regular interactions and check-ups. Guests in our 9-week program also have medication-assisted treatment available to them— which is medication alongside behavioral therapies to continue addiction treatment. For example, Naltrexone is available to guests on a case-by-case basis, which is a medication that treats opioid addiction as a preventative measure for the possibility of relapse.
In our partial hospitalization program, guests will attend six hours of group therapy each day, six days per week. Our PHP consists of the first three weeks of our 9-week program. In PHP, guests can have medication management services alongside psychiatry, to ensure optimal mental health. Guests in our partial hospitalization program with partake in intensive therapies that focus on trauma resolution, recreational opportunities, gender-specific issues, relapse prevention, and 12 step meetings, to name a few.
Guests in our partial hospitalization program will reside in Royal Life Housing, our sober living community. The cost of our sober living for PHP guests are already built into the guest’s treatment plan. Our sober living community features an in-house staff who are available 24/7 for guests needs. We also provide transportation to and from 12 step meetings four times each day, so that guests can become a part of 12 step programs of recovery and build their sober support networks.
IOP
After completing the partial hospitalization program phase of our 9-week program, guests will be transitioned to our intensive outpatient programming. Our intensive outpatient program accounts for the last six weeks of our 9-week program. Intensive outpatient (IOP) is a less structured, more flexible treatment model. Our 9-week program consists of six weeks of our intensive outpatient program, split into two, three week phases. The first phase of IOP involves three hours of group therapy per day, five days out of the week. Through out our 9-week program, guests will still partake in individual therapy sessions with their primary therapist regularly, in addition to their participation in group therapy.
The second and final phase of our 9-week program is intensive outpatient programming that consists of three hours of group therapy per day, three days out of the week. Guests still attend weekly individual therapy sessions with their primary therapist in this phase of treatment. In our final phase of IOP, guests will also partake in job readiness seminars, led by our employment specialists. In these seminars, guests will learn valuable tools and skills, for example: how to build a resume, job etiquette, interview skills, and how to effectively search for a job in the workforce.
We still incorporate various intensive therapies in IOP, like group therapy, adventure therapy, activity therapy, equine therapy, behavioral therapies, etc. Therapy sessions in IOP are still very much individualized, as guests are able to pick and choose therapeutic methods, and topics they would like to participate in during group therapy. Guests will continue to live in our sober living facilities, through out their time in our 9-week program. Our 9-week program is perfect for guests to practice the skills and tools they’ve learned through out addiction treatment thus far, and perfect for finding a balance between life and recovery.
After Our 9-week Program
After completing our 9-week program, guests are invited to join our outpatient program. Our outpatient programming has the least amount of structure, and the most flexibility. Guests are able to live in our sober living or graduate housing community while attending our outpatient program, or they have the option to live at home as well. Our outpatient programming is extremely flexible, as it offers therapy sessions of a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis. The scheduling of our outpatient program is completely dependent on each guest’s individual needs and goals. Our outpatient program was developed to be accommodating for guests who work full time and have other responsibilities, but would still like to enrich their recovery.
Graduate Housing
Guests who have successfully completed our 9-week program, and have obtained a job with the help of our job placement coordinators, are invited to live in our graduate housing facilities. Our graduate housing is an extension of our sober living community. We provide an in-house staff who are available to guests during all hours of the day, seven days a week. Our graduate housing facilities are much like our sober living, featuring luxurious living rooms, spacious bedrooms, walk-in closets, plasma screen TVs with cable, and transportation to and from 12 step meetings and the grocery store. Our graduate housing is the perfect safe space to practice the skills you’ve learned in treatment, and strike a balance between a busy life and addiction recovery.
Royal Life Centers has a variety of programs, designed to follow guests through the stages of the recovery process— offering guidance and support along each step of the way. Our goal is to help you overcome your addiction, and give you confidence in your ability to use skills and tools to rebuild happy, healthy, and meaningful lives in sobriety. Our programs provide comprehensive addiction treatment with a holistic approach. We treat the mind, body, and spirit, to facilitate a full recovery experience. Our addiction treatment prepares guests for independence, giving them the coping mechanisms to get through any obstacles that life brings their way.
