Marla Whalen, BA, SUDP, is the Clinical Director for Royal Life Centers’ detox and rehab facilities in Lacey, Washington. With a behavioral health career starting in 2005, Marla brings profound expertise and genuine compassion to her work. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services and Leadership from The Evergreen State College and has been a licensed Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) since 2006.
Having watched loved ones battle addiction, Marla has a deep personal connection to the recovery field. She uses her lived experience and deep empathy to connect with clients, helping them rebuild their health and relationships.

- Program Excellence: Ensures all assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes meet rigorous regulatory standards.
- Evidence-Based Treatment: Oversees and implements proven clinical practices, with a strong emphasis on trauma-informed care.
For Marla, guiding people through their most challenging moments is a true calling. Outside of her dedicated work, she finds her greatest joy in spending time with her husband, adult children, and four grandchildren.
