Drug & Alcohol Treatment through the VA
We provide treatment for drug and alcohol abuse in the veteran population through our Valor program.
Drug and alcohol treatment will be covered fully by your health insurance through the VA. Our Valor program was designed specifically for veterans of the United States military. We offer this program to you, with inpatient or outpatient options. All led by our expert clinicians.
24/7 Help, Free Consultation and No Obligations.
Thank you for your service.
Thanking you is hardly enough to show the gratitude we have for your service, your commitment and dedication to serving our country and protecting our families. We understand this commitment took sacrifice and selflessness, and often has effects that last long after your active duty.
Trauma, Depression, PTSD and other factors can contribute to substance abuse. Drugs and alcohol are often used as tools to cope with the effects of these underlying conditions. In an effort to suppress or remove the feelings, memories, or thoughts, people are likely to abuse drugs or alcohol. This behavior of self-medicating is one path that often leads to the progressive condition of addiction.
Addiction doesn’t develop from a lack of discipline, it results from the persistence of pain and your efforts to get rid of it.
We designed a program that would meet the unique needs and experiences of those who have served. Created by veterans and clinicians, for veterans— our Valor program is offered in each level of care that we provide.
first step
Medically-Assisted Detox
Our detox program uses FDA-approved medications to counter any withdrawal symptoms. Our goal in this program is to safely, effectively, and comfortably detox you from any substances. We provide balanced nutrition with 3 meals/day prepared by our in-house chef. As your body is brought back to equilibrium by our doctors, you will attend individual and group therapy sessions.
second step
Residential Inpatient
The most significant step in the recovery process. During inpatient, we will uncover the root causes of your substance abuse and help you to work through any ingrained core beliefs or intrusive thoughts that hold you back. We have master's-level therapists with certifications in multiple trauma therapy modalities, including EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Biofeedback, etc.
continuing care
Outpatient Programs
Our intensive outpatient & outpatient programs seamlessly transition you into greater responsibility and fewer restrictions to prepare you for complete independence. Continuing care after inpatient treatment significantly improves your likelihood of maintaining sobriety by over 50%. IOP/OP prepares you for recovery and life after treatment.
Treatment covered by insurance through the VA
To get started, our process is very simple. We have a conversation with you, we will put you in touch with our specialist, and our specialist will walk you through the process of getting a referral for treatment through your local VA center. We work closely with VA centers and have existing relationships because of our Valor program and the positive impact it’s had on their members.
We will build a secure chart in our electronic medical record (EMR) system, so that we can easily reference this record and schedule your stay once we receive your referral. You will need a referral from a VA health center in order for your VA insurance to cover the cost of our drug and alcohol treatment programs.

At Royal Life Centers, we have dedicated over 13 years to providing an alternative solution for individuals who are struggling. We identify and treat the reasons why you are coping. Our team is made up mostly of individuals who are in recovery themselves— bringing you face-to-face with living, breathing proof that recovery is possible.
Our Valor program is thoughtful and functional. It provides intensive therapy that is targeted to relieve symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety caused by trauma. We use therapy types that have been proven to provide relief in less sessions than the leading trauma therapies.
One of our techniques is Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), which is proven to alleviate PTSD symptoms much faster, and with lasting benefits. ART provides results in just 3 sessions, as opposed to 11 sessions of EMDR.
Our Valor program is only open to active duty military personnel or U.S. military veterans.
We want our guests to feel comfortable in sharing what they’ve seen, felt, been through, and are still dealing with. Many of these things are unique to the experience of serving, experiences that only other veterans will be able to understand. Our Valor program creates a community of support through peers who you share common ground and an understanding for the structure and nature of what it means to serve our country.
The treatment experience for Veterans has historically come short. For those who have put their lives on the line for our safety, we knew this needed to change. Today, we are proud to share the details of our specialized program for vets. This program was created by veterans and clinicians, just for veterans.

Reviews
Hear from individuals who started their recovery here at Royal.
I arrived at RLC 92 days ago; broken, depressed, hopeless and physically sick. I wasn't suicidal but had no desire to move forward with life...Upon completion [of detox] I moved over to the nine-week program which helps provide a smooth transition from the more structured residential inpatient to the more flexible outpatient. This is where the training wheels came off and I started to live life again.
I attended fewer but more intense groups, found a sponsor through one of the facilitators, attended daily 12 step meetings, had the opportunity to receive BioFeedback Therapy & it was awesome, hiked all over Prescott in Krista's Outdoor Adventure Group, learned some life skills with Steve and had life-changing one on one sessions with Gary...
One of the things I have enjoyed the most during my stay at RLC is the accommodations and the staff who tends to them. It is not just the facilitators who embody the "Because We Care" motto, it is everyone, the housing & transportation ....medical and maintenance team all live and breathe this just as much as the group leaders and therapists do. The houses themselves, are clean and in safe neighborhoods (close to Downtown); and are equipped with high speed WiFi and Flat Screen Televisions in all the rooms...Thank You Royal Life Centers, you and your “Because We Care” approach saved my life."

We believe that overcoming past and present adversity serves as an asset that allows for self-growth and the changing of behaviors.
We aim to shift guests’ perspective from seeing addiction as a life sentence to seeing recovery as an inquisitive, unique and enthralling experience to find their higher selves. So, once a passion is sparked and a flame is ignited, the perceived “need” for drugs and alcohol diminishes and is replaced with a craving to experience life with clarity. Guests gain the self-love and self-respect to finally want a better way of life because they realize they deserve to grow and flourish in the world. “Because We Care,” not only do we teach individuals how to reclaim their lives, we empower them to re-integrate the forgotten parts of self in order to attain self-reliance.
