Arizona Treatment Center

Inpatient Treatment

Our inpatient treatment in Arizona focuses on treating what is at the root of your addiction.

Drug & Alcohol Treatment Programs

Our programs at Royal Life Centers in Arizona were crafted thoughtfully by clinicians and medical professionals who understand the recovery process from addiction. In each program, you will find structured support that provides you with the tools and skills you need to get and stay sober.

Intensive Outpatient Program

IOP is created for individuals who are building a foundation for sobriety in their early recovery. Structured with therapy sessions.

Native Program

For tribal members who benefit from building a foundation for recovery upon cultural values and beliefs.

royal life centers
Where we believe everybody deserves to be living their dream life.

We believe that overcoming past and present adversity serves as an asset that allows for self-growth and the changing of behaviors.

We aim to shift guests’ perspective from seeing addiction as a life sentence to seeing recovery as an inquisitive, unique and enthralling experience to find their higher selves. So, once a passion is sparked and a flame is ignited, the perceived “need” for drugs and alcohol diminishes and is replaced with a craving to experience life with clarity. Guests gain the self-love and self-respect to finally want a better way of life because they realize they deserve to grow and flourish in the world. “Because We Care,” not only do we teach individuals how to reclaim their lives, we empower them to re-integrate the forgotten parts of self in order to attain self-reliance.

"From intake to care, proper, knowledgeable and caring medical staff that gave individual care to everyone there; it made such a hard thing (going through detox) so comfortable. Loved that we all had our own rooms, snacks available at all times, smoke breaks when we need it, amazing counselors, speakers in intimate groups. The staff have such personal knowledge of what you may be going through that there is compassion and love. This gave me the reset that I needed when I thought that I was going to die. I can’t say enough good things about this place (even through this COVID stuff) they handle everything with efficiency, cleanliness and caring. I will only recommend Royal Life Centers to anyone who asks. 💜 Much love and respect to all the staff, chef, nurses, crew, maintenance, group leaders, nighttime staff and independent inspiring speakers that came in on their own time!!"

"This place is great the whole staff was awesome and all the residents were there too I definitely recommend going. I went through a lot of treatment centers in the VA and they always let us have our phones and I'm so glad that they actually take them here away cuz it's such a distraction when you're trying to concentrate on yourself. The food was great and you get your own room too also they live by their motto and they do care. Thank you guys again!"

"This place saved my life. I had lost the will to live and was reading these reviews just like you are now and decided to check myself in. It was the best decision I have ever made. The people at Royal genuinely care about you and the majority of the staff have a personal understanding of addiction and its horrible toll. Their sympathy and caring can not be conveyed with simple words. The Royal program is extensive and well thought out and can change you so thoroughly the results can be breathtaking. Royal gave me my life back. Gave me my kids back. Gave me my job back. Gave me Me back. No matter how broken you are, how hopeless you've become there is a way back and these people can put you back together again if you let them. An awesome life is waiting for you if you want it!"

"I am an alumni of Chapter 5, and I am so grateful for everything they have done for me. The staff are helpful, supportive, and professional. This program is structured in a great way. The housing team and clinical team work together to set each client up for success. I really felt cared about. I was able to learn how to balance recovery, responsibility, work, and of course, fun. They did a great job preparing me for my transition out of treatment. Chapter 5 helped me to start rebuilding my life, and I wouldn't be celebrating 14 months of sobriety today without them."

"Here at Royal you are a guest, not a patient. They treat you with respect and are willing to help you with any means necessary. The staff here is consistent about checking in with you on not only your progress at the program but how you are feeling as a person, emotionally, physically and mentally. Including caring for your everyday needs, the other guests become your brothers and sisters as we are all here for the same reason, to become a better version of ourselves. Giving you the tools to create your own future and helping you step into a fast pace world. I highly recommend Royal Life Centers to anyone who wishes to make a positive impact on themselves and the people they surround themselves with."

"There is only one thing that matters about a treatment center and that is what results they get for the people staying there. In my case I was able to connect with some excellent professionals who were able to get me to think differently... they convinced me to hang in there day by day as ill as I was, and then to move on to the next level of the Royal treatment which is where I am learning to live properly again. These people really do care about each individual. This treatment is more effective than many more fancy programs and is excellent for alcoholics and addicts alike. I would recommend no other place for recovery."

"My experience at Sumner Royal Life Centers went excellent. I walked in with the belief I was going to learn how to deal with my addiction, but left realizing I had core issues which I needed to cope with and the addiction was a side affect of those issues. The staff were wonderful, it was obvious in the couple days how much they cared about assisting each client. I would certainly recommend Royal Life Centers to anyone."

"Royal Live Centers was there for me when I needed them most. From Dennis who took my initial phone call to the nurses, counselors and doctors, I felt real compassion for my situation. There was a true desire to help me stemming from the fact that most of them had been in my exact situation. The people who work there really do care about the clients. I can say without a doubt that, without the help I received at Royal Life, I would not be sober today. Thank you!"

"...I arrived at RLC 92 days ago; broken, depressed, hopeless and physically sick. I wasn't suicidal but had no desire to move forward with life...had the opportunity to receive BioFeedback Therapy & it was awesome, hiked all over Prescott in Krista's Outdoor Adventure Group, learned some life skills with Steve and had life-changing one on one sessions with Gary...

One of the things I have enjoyed the most during my stay at RLC is the accommodations and the staff who tends to them. It is not just the facilitators who embody the "Because We Care" motto, it is everyone, the housing & transportation ....medical and maintenance team all live and breathe this just as much as the group leaders and therapists do. The houses themselves, are clean and in safe neighborhoods (close to Downtown); and are equipped with high speed WiFi and Flat Screen Televisions in all the rooms...Thank You Royal Life Centers, you and your “Because We Care” approach saved my life."

You will get through this.

And we are grateful if you choose us to help you do it. Click below to call us & ask any questions you may have about treatment— we are happy to answer.

Our admissions department is open 24/7.

Our note to you :

We are driven completely by our passion for helping the next person. It is our mission to offer our help to the individual who is struggling, just like we once were. We want you to know that no matter how society labels you, no matter how you've been treated, no matter how the world sees you, and no matter how you see yourself, the only thing that we see is your potential.

At some point along the way, you wanted to feel better and you chose the fastest way to get there. Over time, it became your only way to get that relief. The issue is that the shortcut to feeling better is also the least reliable and the shortest-lasting. It also causes problems in your relationships, family, work, school, health, and it's incredibly expensive, dangerous, and chronic.

We are here to help you reclaim your life and find that strength that you've always had. We won't judge you. We know that you want your life to be different, and if you're reading this right now— you've already taken the first step towards that freedom. There is nothing more affirming than waking up and not needing a substance to get through that day. You'll quickly learn how to shift that dependence from a substance to depending on yourself, your supports, your community. And pretty soon after, you'll find gratitude for the version of you that knew you needed this change, no matter how much you told yourself you didn't want it at first. We do this because we can see your potential before you are able to. We know it's scary and we know it won't be easy, but we promise it will be worth it.

We've got you, and we know you've got this. Because We Care.

Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions about Inpatient Treatment Programs

You could call today and get set up later in the day. You may get scheduled later in the week, this all depends on availability as we maintain a small caseload for our clinicians and doctors. This way, each guest is able to receive personalized care and attention during their treatment.

The easiest way to find out our availability is by calling our admissions department.

You cannot keep your cellphone or other devices on you during our inpatient treatment at Royal Life Centers. You will be allowed to make calls to family and friends, with your therapist’s permission, during our inpatient programs.

During our outpatient programs, you are allowed to have your cellphone and any other devices. We do ask that you keep all devices off and away during your therapy sessions.

We are located in Prescott, Arizona.

If this is far from you, we will help to arrange for transportation to our facility, and can have a staff member pick you up at the train station or airport.

We also have a sister facility located in Phoenix, Arizona.

For our inpatient programs, you are not allowed to drive yourself to our facility. We will send a driver to you, who will transport you to our facility. If you are flying into Arizona for treatment, a driver will meet you at the airport and bring you to our facility. These coordination services are complimentary.

We do integrate our curriculum with 12-step support groups like Alcoholic’s Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and 12-step themes, however we offer and support multiple programs of recovery. We use an abstinence-based, holistic model of addiction treatment.

Yes, we offer telehealth for all of our programs after detox. Our goal in launching telehealth was to create greater accessibility to our programs and treatment in general.

Our medical detox and IOP/OP programs are co-ed.

We have gender-specific programming during our inpatient program. This means men and women will be housed separately and attend treatment with only other men or women. We offer a Women’s-only program and Men’s-only inpatient treatment program, both in Prescott.

Our program length is highly customizable, to best fit what you need to achieve a solid foundation for lasting sobriety. Our detox program is either 4 or 8 days, depending on the severity of your withdrawal symptoms. Residential Inpatient is a 2-week accelerated program, but can be extended to 30 days at your request.

We offer a long-term treatment option through our IOP/OP programs. This long-term option is a step-down program that spans two phases of intensive outpatient treatment and then offers outpatient treatment, with or without housing in our sober living residences.

If you wanted to do our full continuum of care, you would be looking at a length of about 4-5 months total.

You can remain in our outpatient treatment program for as long as it takes for you to feel solid in your recovery, and ready to progress forward into complete independence.

Your case manager will also provide a comprehensive aftercare plan, and coordinate next steps for you. For example, if you feel like you need accountability to stay sober long-term, but no longer need therapy, we can help you interview for and transition into an Oxford house.

We want to make sure our guests feel confident in their recovery, and not comfortable in complacency. Being able to stay sober when no one’s checking or watching is what we hope for when you transition into independence— we will offer up our sober living environment for as long as you need, unless you are regressing instead of progressing. Whatever your needs may be, we will work with you to make sure you are given all of the tools and guidance to be successful in sobriety.

The way our programs are structured allow for you to choose which therapy types you would like to use, as well as which group therapy courses you would like, based on your needs and goals. Our therapies include, but are not limited to: rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), motivational enhancement therapy, accelerated resolution therapy (ART), music therapy, equine therapy (therapy with horses), experiential therapy, biofeedback, etc.

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Questions

Yes, you can. We are proud to offer this option within telehealth, as it creates opportunity for more people to get help despite a busy schedule, ongoing employment, etc.

You will collaborate with our medical and clinical team to discuss MAT options. We do not withhold this option from our guests unless it poses a risk to his or her health or ultimate success in recovery.

Whatever the circumstance, we do have treatment options for you. If you have a particularly difficult case, we will work with you to identify your needs and find a solution— even if you don’t attend treatment with us, we are more than happy to help you find a place that provides what will work for you.

Keep in mind that medications used for MAT are FDA-approved only for the treatment of opioid use disorder and alcohol use disorder currently.

MAT at our treatment center is highly effective in treating addictions to:

  • alcohol
  • heroin
  • fentanyl
  • other synthetic opioids
  • prescription pain medications (Percocet, Percodan, Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, etc.)
  • methadone
