Valor Program

Veterans and first responders require tailored treatment programs for substance use disorders (SUDs). Our Valor initiative offers specialized, trauma-informed care for individuals coping with drug and alcohol addiction resulting from military service due to the ongoing stress and hazards of working as first responders.

In our Valor program for veterans, you’ll receive evidence-based treatment services to address your unique trauma-related symptoms. Our veteran services are provided by certified and licensed professionals who specialize in the emotional and behavioral challenges faced by military personnel and emergency workers. Recover in a secure, accepting environment alongside peers who have a firsthand understanding of your experiences.

Throughout treatment, you will discover that trauma and substance use stems from excessive stress. For this reason, we provide therapeutic interventions that help you learn how to manage stress effectively, stop relying on drugs and alcohol for self-medication, and develop healthy coping strategies to move forward in life.

Drug and Alcohol Treatment Programs for Military Veterans

Approximately 1 in 15 veterans experience challenges related to alcohol and drug addiction. This is often due to the difficulties of transitioning back into civilian life or following a combat zone deployment. Studies show a staggering 82%–93% of Afghanistan and Iraq veterans battling substance abuse issues also suffer from co-occurring mental health disorders. Of those veterans, 63% specifically struggle with PTSD.

Veterans possess distinct substance abuse treatment requirements that can be effectively addressed through dedicated care among fellow veterans and first responders. Royal Life Centers established the Valor program to provide trauma-focused, research-backed treatment tailored specifically for military veterans and emergency personnel.

What Does Our Veterans Program Offer?

Veterans

We design personalized treatment plans addressing your unique requirements, incorporating trauma-informed treatment strategies and therapies for co-occurring mental health disorders.

Veterans Mental Health Services

We provide mental health services in our dual diagnosis treatment programs to military veterans who struggle with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. Your treatment plan will focus on providing evidence-based therapies to help you regain control of your life.

Your personal care team will prescribe medications for co-occurring conditions, if needed, alongside counseling and behavior therapies to help you attain mental well-being. For instance, our individualized approach provides traditional mental health services such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) alongside trauma-informed care to target symptoms of PTSD such as eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR).

Medication Management Services in Veterans Rehab

A key part of our dual diagnosis treatment is our medication management services for co-occurring disorders. Upon entering treatment, our team of medical professionals meets with military veterans to perform thorough mental health evaluations to determine the presence of any co-occurring mental health disorders.

Following this, your personal care team will provide medications tailored to treat the symptoms of any co-occurring disorders. In doing so, the veterans in our care are better able to focus their full attention on treatment and recovery.

Our medication management services also include drug screenings, checking for dangerous interactions between medications, and providing recommendations on dosage levels. Throughout inpatient treatment, you will be under 24/7 monitoring by our trained medical staff to ensure your safety and comfort during the early stages of treatment. In doing so, we can ensure that our guests are properly taking medications that will maximize their success in recovery.

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Services

Royal Life Centers provides medically-assisted treatment (MAT) services. Our MAT services incorporate FDA-approved medications for alcohol use disorders and opioid use disorders. These medications act as a bridge that helps to reduce cravings and lessen withdrawal symptoms while your body and mind adjust to sobriety during the detox process.
