Top-Rated Drug and Alcohol Treatment Programs

We offer our structured and intensive treatment programs for drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Drug and Alcohol Rehab

At Royal Life Centers, we start your recovery by safely allowing drugs or alcohol in your body to dissipate while providing medication to treat the severe and often life-threatening withdrawal symptoms that can occur. After we stabilize your body and bring it back to equilibrium, we will delve deeper into the clinical component of treatment that is focused on the mental aspect of addiction.

We provide structured programs that use intensive therapies to help you understand why you are using drugs or alcohol as a coping mechanism, provide healing for those motivators, and teach new coping skills to use in place of drinking alcohol or using other substances.

Our programs are designed to follow each other, although you do not have to go through our entire continuum. If you choose to, our program is about four months in length, with optional outpatient treatment and sober living that can be attended for however much time you need to feel confident and secure in your recovery.

Expertly designed, award-winning, and multi-accredited programs

Our Programs

All of our programming is completely individualized, from specialty program tracks to therapy modalities used. You will collaborate with your clinical team (your primary therapist, medical director, and case manager) to customize your treatment plan with therapies, topics of discussion, and therapeutic activities that meet your needs and goals.

4 or 8 days in length, depending on which substance or substances you are detoxing from. Medication is provided for your comfort during this program, and with our 24-hour nursing staff, you have medical care to help address any symptoms or concerns that come up along the way.

Therapy begins during our detox program because we believe you must treat all aspects of addiction, not just physical dependence, if your goal is to maintain sobriety. We also provide individual sessions with a mental health counselor, which are available to you any time you feel like you need one. Our goal in detox is to bring your body back to equilibrium and begin the clinical work that will treat your mind.

Our inpatient program ranges from 14-30 days in length, depending on your case and needs. During inpatient treatment at Royal, we offer 24-hour nursing staff, an intensive therapy schedule, amenities, and a strong recovery community.

This level of care is truly focused on clinical work. Together, we will figure out what motivates your substance abuse and begin restructuring thought patterns that have held you back for years. This process starts with identifying the core beliefs, typically formed in childhood, that have created the negative narrative you’ve been living in. This program will provide you with the insight you need to view your life objectively and craft its trajectory moving forward.

During our inpatient program, intensive therapy will guide you to connect with your authentic self, acknowledge your needs and advocate for yourself in order to fulfill them. You will begin laying the foundation of knowledge that’s needed to remain sober. Through clinical work and a clarified outlook, you will understand the differences in thought between who you were, who you are, and who you want to be. By the end of this program, instead of questioning how to live without drugs or alcohol you will recognize and understand why you once thought you needed to.

Our 12 week program is a long-term, step-down program that seamlessly transitions you through three levels of care. It begins with 4 weeks of partial-hospitalization (PHP), which is followed by two phases of intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment. You will gain greater responsibility and more freedoms as you “step-down” to the next level of care. This program prepares you for complete independence after treatment, and significantly improves the likelihood of maintaining sobriety longterm. Our 12 week program is focused on skill-building.

You will learn life skills like:

  • building a routine
  • forming healthy friendships
  • how to ask for help when you need it
  • cooking
  • cleaning

You will also learn skills that you’ve felt like everyone else in life naturally knew how to do, like how to put yourself first, trusting others, how to trust yourself, how to make friendships, building a support system that you can (and will) rely on, how to be reliable, etc.

During our 12 week program, guests will live in our sober living residences, which are fully-furnished and equipped with amenities. Living in our sober living environment will teach you how to be part of a community, and you will be able to get support from peers and form friendships rooted in common ground.

Our outpatient program is our most flexible, least restrictive treatment option. This program is for those needing support and could benefit from structure in early recovery. During outpatient, guests can choose the frequency and schedule for their therapy sessions. There is a requirement of one therapy session/week, which can be either a group therapy session or an individual therapy session.

During this program, you are learning how to balance your recovery with life. Most guests in outpatient have a job, are taking college courses, or are busy running a household. This programming is very flexible and allows for continued clinical care, support, and accountability no matter what else you’ve got going on.

Our outpatient program has an optional sober living component. You can attend outpatient from home, although most guests choose to live in our sober residences. Sober living at Royal has added amenities like a gym membership, laundry room in each residence, flat-screen TVs, WiFi, a 24/7 sober living staff, transportation (meetings, grocery store, dental/doctor appts.), permissions to check out for overnight visits with family or loved ones, and a built-in recovery community.

Our note to you :

We are driven completely by our passion for helping the next person. It is our mission to offer our help to the individual who is struggling, just like we once were. We want you to know that no matter how society labels you, no matter how you've been treated, no matter how the world sees you, and no matter how you see yourself, the only thing that we see is your potential.

At some point along the way, you wanted to feel better and you chose the fastest way to get there. Over time, it became your only way to get that relief. The issue is that the shortcut to feeling better is also the least reliable and the shortest-lasting. It also causes problems in your relationships, family, work, school, health, and it's incredibly expensive, dangerous, and chronic.

We are here to help you reclaim your life and find that strength that you've always had. We won't judge you. We know that you want your life to be different, and if you're reading this right now— you've already taken the first step towards that freedom. There is nothing more affirming than waking up and not needing a substance to get through that day. You'll quickly learn how to shift that dependence from a substance to depending on yourself, your supports, your community. And pretty soon after, you'll find gratitude for the version of you that knew you needed this change, no matter how much you told yourself you didn't want it at first. We do this because we can see your potential before you are able to. We know it's scary and we know it won't be easy, but we promise it will be worth it.

We've got you, and we know you've got this. Because We Care.

Our top-rated drug and alcohol treatment facilities

Locations

We are located in the states of Washington and Arizona, with five facilities across Washington state and three facilities in Arizona. Please view the map below to see the locations of each Royal Life Centers facility.

Many of our guests travel to attend our programs from around the country. Because of this, we make getting to our facility as easy as possible. If you are coming from out of state, please let us know ahead of time so that we can book your roundtrip flight and set up transportation to and from our facilities for you. Most often, we opt for flights to either SeaTac International Airport, Spokane International Airport, or Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. For those who fly in, we will have a driver meet you at the airport once you arrive.

This is our facility in Mead, Washington, located on the outskirts of the Colville National Forest.

Why our locations are important

Where you attend treatment makes a huge difference

Choose a Treatment Program with Proven Success

We have been a leading provider in the field of drug and alcohol addiction treatment for over a decade. Every part of our program is designed to support you through the recovery process and prepare you for maintaining your sobriety once you complete treatment. We hold accreditations from the most prestigious accrediting bodies, as well as certifications for cultural and population-specific programming.

As a dual diagnosis treatment provider, we are not only focused on your substance or alcohol use disorder, but also any co-occurring disorders. We treat these disorders simultaneously, because unmanaged symptoms can affect the efficacy of treatment and your ability to sustain recovery.

Our Physical Locations

We chose areas of the country that have beautiful landscapes, strong recovery communities, and are removed from bustling cities. You will see that our locations are very close to mountain ranges, national forests, natural parks, and hiking trails.

How This Setting Helps Your Recovery

Part of our treatment is about reconnecting with your true and authentic self. We find that this process becomes easier when you are surrounded by nature. When you are face-to-face with mountain ranges and dense forest, your mind tends to get quieter and you’re able to focus on one thought at a time— you are able to think clearly. We provide therapeutics with a holistic approach, which are focused on strengthening the mind and body connection, including adventure therapies (rock climbing, hiking, kayaking), yoga therapy, aromatherapy, breathwork, etc. Our facilities are more removed to keep the focus on your recovery.

Our locations prove to be strong recovery communities, with dozens of meetings to choose from every day, sober events, and some of the best recreation. In sobriety, you will find that hobbies and healthy activities are a large part of how you will stay sober. Being located a short distance from multiple national forests, breathtaking parks with mountain views, hiking paths, and renowned trails, we chose locations that support a healthy lifestyle. Our goals for you in recovery are to find your purpose and build meaning into your life through strong and healthy friendships, and community, and by doing more things that bring you joy and sense of self. You are able to reinvent who you are through guided introspective reflection and by removing the parts of your identity that were created through your alcohol/drug use. The relative solitude and peacefulness of each Royal facility help to provide the time and space needed away from familiar stimuli so that you are able to focus on these aspects of recovery.

Recovering Away from Home

For those with a moderate to severe substance use disorder, or those who have been to a drug or alcohol rehabilitation program before and were unsuccessful in maintaining sobriety, the recommendation you will get from any substance use disorder professional is to try sobriety in a different area that is far away from home.

Why?

In the areas you are used to living in during your active addiction, there are “people, places, and. things” that contribute negatively to your success in sobriety. These people, places, and things serve as distractions to your recovery and often times, become triggers or motivators to leave treatment. If you know you can call a friend to pick you up and obtain drugs easily if you were to leave treatment, you are much more likely to do so in moments of doubt or discomfort during the recovery process. Leaving your general area is always recommended, especially for those with a severe substance use disorder and little sober support in the area they call home. Dealers, friends you drink or do drugs with, neighborhoods you pick up, these are all too close for comfort when you are trying to seriously pursue a better life.

Drug and Alcohol Rehab

Our programs have received local and national awards for a reason.

Expert care

Our programs were designed by a team of clinicians and medical professionals. Each facet of our programs has been designed to meet the needs of individuals in early recovery, and flow with the stages of the recovery process.

Backed by science

Programming was created based on research, studies, and treatment outcomes. Everything from the length of our programs to the included services support a comprehensive treatment model and ultimately, your success in recovery.

Accessible

We have done an enormous amount of work to ensure that our programs empower more individuals to recover. We began offering MAT last year, introduced our telehealth format this year, and will continue evolving to improve the accessibility to quality treatment across the U.S.

Unconditional support

We don't just send you on your way after you've completed a program at Royal. We have full-time staff who manage our services for alumni. They will reach out to check in with you periodically, invite you to a meeting or event, and provide service opportunities.

Specialty Programs

At Royal Life Centers, we customize your therapy sessions and our therapeutic offerings to meet your individual needs. Not everyone can recover in the same way, which is why our approach has always been person-centered. You can have programming from one, some, or all of our specialty programs because your treatment plan is completely individualized.

Valor Program

For military veterans or active duty military personnel.

Native Program

For tribal members who benefit from building a foundation for recovery upon cultural values and beliefs.

Trauma Program

For those with a physical, sexual, verbal, or emotional trauma history.

Court-Approved Program

For those who need certain requirements and community service hours built-in.

Did you know

Our medical detox program involves intensive clinical care alongside your medical treatment, which is unfortunately not a common practice. Therapy sessions begin on day one of detox, because our ultimate goal is to uncover the root cause(s) of alcoholism. We seek to treat the underlying causes so that we can correct the thoughts and feelings that motivate alcohol use. From over a decade of treating people, we find that focusing on correcting the true problem will work to prevent the behavior.

Therapy

We employ master's-level clinicians to design your treatment plan and guide you through the clinical work to uncover the root causes of your substance abuse.

Some of the therapies we use to achieve this include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Holistic Therapies (yoga, breathwork, meditation).

Reviews

Hear from individuals who have experienced the recovery we offer and leaned into it, wholeheartedly, making a decision to change the way they choose to live. We never said it was easy, but we will promise that it’s worth it.

"From intake to care, proper, knowledgeable and caring medical staff that gave individual care to everyone there; it made such a hard thing (going through detox) so comfortable. Loved that we all had our own rooms, snacks available at all times, smoke breaks when we need it, amazing counselors, speakers in intimate groups. The staff have such personal knowledge of what you may be going through that there is compassion and love. This gave me the reset that I needed when I thought that I was going to die. I can’t say enough good things about this place (even through this COVID stuff) they handle everything with efficiency, cleanliness and caring. I will only recommend Royal Life Centers to anyone who asks. 💜 Much love and respect to all the staff, chef, nurses, crew, maintenance, group leaders, nighttime staff and independent inspiring speakers that came in on their own time!!"

"This place is great the whole staff was awesome and all the residents were there too I definitely recommend going. I went through a lot of treatment centers in the VA and they always let us have our phones and I'm so glad that they actually take them here away cuz it's such a distraction when you're trying to concentrate on yourself. The food was great and you get your own room too also they live by their motto and they do care. Thank you guys again!"

"This place saved my life. I had lost the will to live and was reading these reviews just like you are now and decided to check myself in. It was the best decision I have ever made. The people at Royal genuinely care about you and the majority of the staff have a personal understanding of addiction and its horrible toll. Their sympathy and caring can not be conveyed with simple words. The Royal program is extensive and well thought out and can change you so thoroughly the results can be breathtaking. Royal gave me my life back. Gave me my kids back. Gave me my job back. Gave me Me back. No matter how broken you are, how hopeless you've become there is a way back and these people can put you back together again if you let them. An awesome life is waiting for you if you want it!"

"I am an alumni of Chapter 5, and I am so grateful for everything they have done for me. The staff are helpful, supportive, and professional. This program is structured in a great way. The housing team and clinical team work together to set each client up for success. I really felt cared about. I was able to learn how to balance recovery, responsibility, work, and of course, fun. They did a great job preparing me for my transition out of treatment. Chapter 5 helped me to start rebuilding my life, and I wouldn't be celebrating 14 months of sobriety today without them."

"This place was by far the most amazing Treatment Center and detox that anyone could ever hope for! The staff is absolutely amazing they truly genuinely care about your well being I am beyond grateful for every single one of them! They dont allow you to not feel uncomfortable. If detoxing from opiates you can choose to do a suboxone taper and its the best option by far so when u leave your not on any mind altering substance and for me thats what i wanted more then anything to truly be 100% clean! They helped me achieve that when i wasnt capable of doing it on my own. Thank you royal life center for helping me get myself back and my family words cant explain how grateful I am for each and every one of you!"

"I have no idea what to say to do this place justice. Do they have some minor issues that they are working though of course. But in general this place is Amazing! The staff from the boss to the chefs where such kind and caring people! The main staff members that run the front desk and keep track of everyone (I forgot their title) are so awesome they have such big hearts and are always there to help if you need anything! I'm not sure if I am allowed to say staff names so to be safe I won't, but my counselor (I hope she reads this) was so amazing she helped me so much. And I have to mention the male night staff person that is 19 years old, he helped me see life though my kids eyes and that made a huge difference in me wanting to stay sober. Thank you so much Royals and hope to be back in the future to see about volunteering."

"Royal Life Centers of Spokane, was an amazing rehabilitation experience, The staff there truly cares about each individuals wellbeing and understand the long tedious process on the road to recovery. The programs that they have help you understand addiction as well as showing you the endless joy that comes along with sobriety. The detox center was amazing and the food was excellent, But the real growth starts within their 9 week program and Graduate aftercare. The whole experience at Royal Life Centers was truly a blessing at the lowest point in my life. I spent 14 months in their hand from detox to their graduate housing and aftercare. Today I am 2 years and 4 months clean thanks to My Royal life family."

The staff here is consistent about checking in with you on not only your progress at the program but how you are feeling as a person, emotionally, physically and mentally. Including caring for your everyday needs, the other guests become your brothers and sisters as we are all here for the same reason, to become a better version of ourselves. "There is only one thing that matters about a treatment center and that is what results they get for the people staying there. In my case I was able to connect with some excellent professionals who were able to get me to think differently... they convinced me to hang in there day by day as ill as I was, and then to move on to the next level of the Royal treatment which is where I am learning to live properly again. These people really do care about each individual. This treatment is more effective than many more fancy programs and is excellent for alcoholics and addicts alike. I would recommend no other place for recovery."

"Bottom line is, change comes from within, you gotta be the one to light that flame, there is no perfect facility, no magic pills, no magician who can cast away your problems. That being said Royal is a good place with caring staff who do their best to make this process as easy as it can be. They provide a safe, drug free environment with education and nutrition to get you on your way. They will lay the tools at your feet, expose you to experience, strength, and , hope, but your recovery is your responsibility! If you want these tools, and the help to get a good head start on changing your life, then I recommend Royal for you. "Wow! When a company adopts a motto like "Because We Care", it leaves the door open for a fair amount of criticism. Well, the team at Royal Life Centers lives and breathes this precept on a daily basis.

I arrived at RLC 92 days ago; broken, depressed, hopeless and physically sick. I wasn't suicidal but had no desire to move forward with life...Upon completion [of detox] I moved over to the nine-week program which helps provide a smooth transition from the more structured residential inpatient to the more flexible outpatient. This is where the training wheels came off and I started to live life again.

I attended fewer but more intense groups, found a sponsor through one of the facilitators, attended daily 12 step meetings, had the opportunity to receive BioFeedback Therapy & it was awesome, hiked all over Prescott in Krista's Outdoor Adventure Group, learned some life skills with Steve and had life-changing one on one sessions with Gary...

One of the things I have enjoyed the most during my stay at RLC is the accommodations and the staff who tends to them. It is not just the facilitators who embody the "Because We Care" motto, it is everyone, the housing & transportation ....medical and maintenance team all live and breathe this just as much as the group leaders and therapists do. The houses themselves, are clean and in safe neighborhoods (close to Downtown); and are equipped with high speed WiFi and Flat Screen Televisions in all the rooms...Thank You Royal Life Centers, you and your “Because We Care” approach saved my life."

Hi, We're Royal Life Centers,

We have created a community of belonging, where anyone who is ready for change is able to get started and grow in the recovery process with guidance, support, and insight. We provide the skills and tools you need to get and maintain sobriety, giving you everything you need to build a happy, healthy, and meaningful life.

Frequently Asked Questions

You could call today and get set up later in the day. You may get scheduled later in the week, this is all subject to our availability as we maintain a small caseload for our clinicians and doctors. This way, each guest is able to receive personalized care and attention during their treatment.

The easiest way to find out our current availability is by calling our admissions department.

Unfortunately, no. Our admissions process requires dialogue between you and one of our admission coordinators, as we have an internal assessment before scheduling your intake.

Additionally, because of the treatment we provide and our well-known and well-respected programs, our availability fluctuates since we only have a relatively small number of spaces in each facility. Please call us to check our current availability and we will get you scheduled right away for our next available spot.

Yes, we offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT). We use only FDA-approved medications for medication-assisted treatment, including: Suboxone, Subutex, Campral and Vivitrol.

MAT at Royal is designed to support an MAT approach for individuals with an alcohol use disorder or opioid use disorder. These medications are approved to treat only these two substance use disorders, currently.

You can opt-in for MAT through out our medical detox, inpatient, and partial hospitalization programs. If you would like to continue MAT in intensive outpatient (last 8 weeks of our 12 week program) or outpatient treatment, we will set you up with a provider and provide transportation to and from your appointments.

Our locations in Washington include:

  • Lacey, Washington
  • Sumner, Washington
  • Spokane, Washington
  • Mead, Washington

Our locations in Arizona include:

  • Prescott, Arizona

In Arizona, we have gender-specific programming during our inpatient programs. We offer a Women’s-only program and Men’s-only program, both in Prescott as well.

The way our programs are structured allow for you to choose which therapy types you would like to use, as well as which group therapy courses you would like, based on your needs and goals.

Our therapies include, but are not limited to: rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), motivational enhancement therapy, accelerated resolution therapy (ART), music therapy, equine therapy (therapy with horses), experiential therapy, biofeedback, etc.

We do integrate our curriculum with 12-step support groups like Alcoholic’s Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and 12-step themes, however we offer and support multiple programs of recovery. We use an abstinence-based, holistic model of addiction treatment.

You must be a Washington state resident to opt-in for our telehealth services. If you are a resident of Washing, yes, we offer telehealth for all programs after medical detox.

Our goal in launching telehealth was to create greater accessibility to our programs and treatment in general.

Medication-assisted treatment for alcoholism is beneficial in reducing cravings (Naltrexone) and creating negative associations with alcohol (Campral™).

Yes, you can. Again, you must be a Washington resident to partake in our telehealth services.

We are proud to offer this option within telehealth, as it creates opportunity for more people to get help despite a busy schedule, ongoing employment, etc.

Whatever the circumstance, we do have treatment options for you. If you have a particularly difficult case, we will work with you to identify your needs and find a solution— even if you don’t attend treatment with us, we are more than happy to help you find a place that provides what will work for you.

Our program length is highly customizable, to best fit what you need to achieve a solid foundation for lasting sobriety. Our detox program is either 4 or 8 days, depending on the severity of your withdrawal symptoms. Residential Inpatient is a 2-week accelerated program, but can be extended to 30 days at your request. We offer a long-term treatment program that is 12 weeks in length. This long-term option is a step-down program that spans our partial-hositalization program and two phases of intensive outpatient treatment. If you wanted to do our full continuum of care, you would be looking at a length of about 4-5 months total.

Our full continuum of care (detox, residential, and the 12-week program) is a little over 3 months in length, however, if you wanted to continue care with us on an outpatient level, we also offer outpatient programming through telehealth, or in-person. We do offer housing if you would like to live in our sober living residences during your treatment.

Our sober living residences are close to our clinical building, and offer a range of amenities alongside a built-in full-time sober living staff and transportation services to and from 12-step meetings, the grocery store, and even outside doctor/dental appointments.

Where we believe everybody deserves to be living their dream life.

We believe that overcoming past and present adversity serves as an asset that allows for self-growth and the changing of behaviors.

We aim to shift guests’ perspective from seeing addiction as a life sentence to seeing recovery as an inquisitive, unique and enthralling experience to find their higher selves. So, once a passion is sparked and a flame is ignited, the perceived “need” for drugs and alcohol diminishes and is replaced with a craving to experience life with clarity. Guests gain the self-love and self-respect to finally want a better way of life because they realize they deserve to grow and flourish in the world. “Because We Care,” not only do we teach individuals how to reclaim their lives, we empower them to re-integrate the forgotten parts of self in order to attain self-reliance.
