You see treatment centers all over the country offering addiction treatment, but how many of those facilities offer comprehensive addiction treatment, especially treatment that offers assistance through programs like employment services?
What is Comprehensive Addiction Treatment?
Comprehensive addiction treatment is addiction treatment that offers a variety of components. The National Institute on Drug Abuse offers material outlining the components of a comprehensive addiction treatment. Some components of comprehensive addiction treatment include: mental health services, medical services, educational services, vocational services/employment services, legal services, financial services, housing/transportation services, and family services. These components lead to key elements in the treatment program, including the intake/processing assessment, behavioral therapy and counseling, clinical and case management, substance use monitoring, self-help/peer support groups, a treatment plan, and continuing care.
Our Treatment
Royal Life Centers offers all of the service components mentioned above, in addition to being lead by all of the key elements above as well. Royal Life Centers offers true comprehensive addiction treatment. Upon arrival to our facilities, guests will be matched with a primary therapist and a case manager, who they will work with through out their stay with us. The case manager takes the role of assisting the guest in a variety of services, from anything like applying for government assistance to handling on-going legal issues.
Employment Services
It is important for recovering addicts and alcoholics to eventually re-enter the workforce and become productive members of society, using all of the life skills and tools they have learned in treatment. Entering the workforce again can be hard for alcoholics and addicts, because many have been unable to hold down a job in the past— or may have never worked before.
At Royal Life Centers, we offer a vocational program that prepares guests to re-enter the workforce. We have highly-trained staff members in all of our facilities, and we also have a staff of employment specialists who work with guests to ready them for the workforce. Our employment services incorporate seminars like building a resume, interviewing, work etiquette, etc. to prepare guests for the job-searching process. Guests will learn all the tools they need to re-enter the workforce, while still in treatment and receiving support from staff, peers, and their sober support network. Our personal network at Royal Life Centers can even match job seekers to jobs that we know are available.
The Importance of Employment Services
Our goal is to bring each guest the skills and tools to rebuild happy, healthy, and successful lives in sobriety. We want self-sufficiency and independence for each guest. Because We Care. There is no better way to be independent than to obtain and maintain a job, with a steady source of income. Our case managers work with guests to set goals and determine which jobs would work best for that individual guest.
Guests who previously struggled with alcohol use disorder, or drug addiction to either prescription or illicit drugs, may have had little experience in the workforce due to the consequential nature of addiction. Drug or alcohol addiction is a mental health disorder, which not only effects behaviors, but also thoughts and emotions. As guests are in the recovery process, they will learn tools on how to challenge bad behaviors and thoughts, and learn ways to tolerate distress. Coming to a point where guests are able to handle the obstacles of early recovery and life, guests are prepped for re-entering the workforce— to put their tools to use and begin the next phase of recovery.
The Vocational Process
Guests find it extremely beneficial to undergo this process of re-entering the workforce while still in treatment, because it allows them to still have the support they need. Guests will be facing the obstacles of life and early recovery simultaneously, which is why a source of guidance and support is vital to their successful sobriety. We encourage guests to talk about their frustrations through out the process of searching for a job, as to prevent relapse from pent up emotions.
Just because a guest stops drinking, or stops using drugs, does not mean that the effects of alcohol or drugs are completely behind them. Self-seeking behavior can arise, which is why it’s important to have that sense of support through a process that will likely bring up some old behaviors. While involved in a vocational process, we often see signs and symptoms of a relapse, and immediately prevent it by addressing the behaviors and thought patterns.
Our Programs
Royal Life Centers has both inpatient and outpatient programs to address alcohol and drug abuse. Our programs include both short term and long term options. Royal Life Centers provides treatment options including: medical detox, a residential inpatient program, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), an intensive outpatient program (IOP), an outpatient program (OP), sober living and graduate housing.
Where to Begin
Our medical detox program is the first step in recovery. Upon arrival, guests will be assessed for their symptoms of alcohol or drug withdrawal, and evaluated for any co-occuring mental health disorders. Our medical detox program can last for either 4 or a full 8 day stabilization period. During this time, guests will be treated as alcohol or substances are removed from the body in a safe, effective, and comfortable way. Once you abruptly stop drinking alcohol or stop using drugs, adverse and severe withdrawal symptoms can occur. This is why detoxification is best done in a safe, controlled environment, under 24/7 direct supervision of medical professionals.
Our Treatment
At Royal Life Centers, we incorporate all of the components of a comprehensive addiction treatment. Our approach is holistic, as we treat the mind, body, and spirit for a full healing experience in recovery. We strive to give guests the skills and tools they need to build healthy, happy, and successful lives in sobriety. All of our treatment centers at Royal Life Centers are nationally accredited, recognized by some of the top organizations in the United States for offering the highest standards in addiction treatment and using only the best practices.
