We do integrate our curriculum with 12-step support groups like Alcoholic’s Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and 12-step themes, however we offer and support multiple programs of recovery. We use an abstinence-based, holistic model of addiction treatment.
Our outpatient program is highly customizable, so you can choose how long you’d like to be in outpatient treatment and how often you participate in outpatient therapy sessions.
To give you an idea, guests typically choose to stay in outpatient treatment for a couple of months with some guests choosing to stay in sober living while attending outpatient groups for a longer term. If you would like long-term support and to remain in a sober living environment long-term, you are free to stay in our sober living residences for over a year.
Remember, being in outpatient treatment does not typically mean you attend therapy sessions every day. Usually, an outpatient schedule will look like a couple of group therapy sessions a week, and an individual therapy session once a week or bi-weekly. Your schedule will depend on what you need and want.
Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) has various studies and bodies of research showing its efficacy in treating two substance use disorders— alcohol use disorder (AUD) and opioid use disorder (OUD).
Because of the clinical trials, research, and FDA-approval of various medications to be used in the manner of MAT, we only recommend medication-assisted treatment to treat guests who are recovering from the following substances:
- Alcohol
- Prescription Opioids
- Fentanyl and other synthetic opioids
- Opiates (heroin, morphine, etc.)
For alcohol use disorder (AUD) – Campral, Vivitrol
For opioid use disorder (OUD) – Suboxone, Subutex, Vivitrol
The generic names for the medications listed above are acamprosate (Campral©), buprenorphine with naloxone (Suboxone©), buprenorphine (Subutex©), and naltrexone (Vivitrol©).
**Please note, medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is a specific term used to describe the use of “maintenance” medications under the supervision of a medical doctor who specializes in addiction medicine, and is only a viable option when alongside behavioral therapies. Some of the medications used for medication-assisted treatment are considered to be controlled substances. If you are considering this option, you can learn more here and follow the links to gather information from official state or governmental national organizations.
If you’d like to return home or just move somewhere else after completing treatment, we make sure you are completely prepared and set up for success! We will book your flight home, provide transportation to your home, or set up other logistics to make sure you get there safely. We will also collaborate to craft a comprehensive aftercare plan for you, and welcome you into our alumni community!
Aftercare Plan
Every guest will meet with their clinical team and discuss their preferences, goals, circumstances, and needs so we can prepare a detailed aftercare plan for you. An aftercare plan is a plan detailing continuing care options and resources that will enable you to build a strong sober support network. We will help you establish a care team (psychologist, psychiatrist, primary care physician, etc.) in the area you will be returning to. We will also compile a list of meetings and support groups for you to prepare building a sober support network at home.
Other services we will do for you, if you would like: coordinate interviews with Oxford houses in any area where you would like to live, help you find housing, review your relapse prevention plan and communicate it with your loved ones, set a virtual family therapy session up to discuss your return (if you will be returning to your family home or living with a family member).
Alumni Community
Our alumni community is so much fun. We get together to do something at least once a month and your alumni coordinator will call or text you to check in time-to-time. We also have a private group on Facebook where you can post news, ask for support, plan to spend time together, and share things from your life!

You are also able to request for overnight visits and vacations, where you will be able to leave our sober living campus for an extended period, to visit family/friends or attend important events.
During our lesser levels of care, you are not restricted to our campus by any means. You are free to go out and do things, in fact, we encourage it. If you are local, you can see your family members and loved ones, get a coffee with a friend, go rock climbing, go on a hike, kayak, go out to dinner, etc.

Some of these rules include:
- remaining sober
- do not bring drugs or alcohol on our campus
- keep other guests’ confidentiality
- be back to your home/apartment in time for curfew
We do not have a blanket cost for treatment if you are using health insurance, since deductibles and/or co-pays are different for everyone. If you are using health insurance, cost is dependent on your coverage, policy plan and benefits.
The best way to find out your insurance coverage is by calling our admissions department with your insurance information in hand, our admissions coordinators will take a look at your specific policy and give you an accurate overview of any remaining deductible, active benefits, and any out of pocket expenses. Alternatively, you can check your coverage by filling out this form — one of our admission coordinators will call you to go over your specific plan’s coverage and will be able to provide an exact out-of-pocket cost if there is one.
If you do not currently have health insurance, we offer a private payment option which is one of the most affordable rates across the country for a private rehabilitation center.

Depending on your circumstances, needs, and goals, we do offer telehealth counseling sessions and other programming, virtually. We also offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) through our telehealth program.
We believe that overcoming past and present adversity serves as an asset that allows for self-growth and the changing of behaviors.
We aim to shift guests’ perspective from seeing addiction as a life sentence to seeing guests’ recovery as an inquisitive, unique and enthralling experience to find their higher selves. So, once a passion is sparked and a flame is ignited, the perceived “need” for drugs and alcohol diminishes and is replaced with a craving to experience life with clarity. Guests gain the self-love and self-respect to finally want a better way of life because guests realize they deserve to grow and flourish in the world. “Because We Care,” not only do we teach guests how to reclaim their lives, we empower guests to re-integrate the forgotten parts of self in order to attain self-reliance.

Our success is when our guests get the chance to see their life change in recovery.
This is Christine's story.
About Royal Life Centers,
With over a decade of experience in treating mild to severe substance use and co-occurring disorders, we have had the honor of helping thousands of individuals reclaim their life from addiction. We started out 15 years ago to offer outpatient treatment within a sober living environment to create a community for the people who just wanted to do the next right thing for their recovery. Soon after, we realized that most people looking to start their recovery had no idea how, resulting in multiple hospital visits, short and sporadic periods of sobriety, various attempts at sobriety with no resolve and ultimately unable to find healing for the root causes that continued to motivate their substance abuse.
The cycle of addiction prompted us to begin establishing safe, welcoming places that felt like home,— staffed with people who felt like family. We gained our place in the addiction treatment field by treating our guests how we would want clinicians and doctors to treat our own family members, modeling our message, "Because We Care." Soon enough, we saw our vision come to life, through the individuals who came to us for help. Motivated by the gratitude we felt by being able to make a difference in our guests' lives, we worked to establish enough facilities to provide a full continuum of care, offering treatment for addiction at all stages of the recovery process.
From our humble beginnings, we put our guests first. We still do. This is the primary thing that sets us apart from other treatment centers. We welcome you into our family, while prioritizng your safety, comfort, and success in recovery. We rely heavily on our accomplished staff members for their clinical excellence and medical expertise with addiction, and for some— their personal experience with addiction. From the very beginning, the moment you ask us for help, you will be welcomed into our community with kindness, respect, and dignity. We created a community of belonging, where anyone who is ready for change is able to get started and grow in the recovery process with other people doing the same. Through our programs, we provide you with the skills and tools you need to get and maintain sobriety, giving you everything you need to rebuild a happy, healthy, and meaningful life.
Our Admissions Process
Simple, quick, and easy, our goal is to get you help right away.
You can call us directly, send an email to admissions, fill out an insurance verification form, or submit a request for us to contact you.
If you plan to use your health insurance to cover treatment, we will need to gather your insurance information. Health insurance is not required, so if you don’t have insurance we can discuss payment options for the treatment program(s) you have decided on.
This pre-assessment takes place over the phone, and only takes 5-10 minutes. If you are seeking help for a loved one, we will be doing this pre-assessment with him or her.
Schedule a date and time you would like to come in.
If we have arranged your flight from out-of-state, we will keep tabs on your flight and send a driver to pick you up from the airport. If you live in close proximity to our facility, we can put a plan in place to transport you to our facility. Alternatively, a loved one can bring you to our facility to check-in.
