Melissa Hood

Director of Community Outreach

Melissa Tarasoff-Hood is the passionate Director Of Community Outreach for Royal Life Centers’ treatment facilities in the state of Washington. Within her role, she manages the referral outreach services for our inpatient and outpatient facilities in Sumner, Lacey, and Spokane. As Director of Community Outreach, Melissa maintains close-knit partnerships with local referrals, VA hospitals, EAPS, Drug Courts, and tribal communities.

Originally from New Jersey, Melissa became a member of the recovery community in 2011. Soon after, Melissa began her career in the field of addiction treatment, continuing her recovery maintenance while helping others. Above all,  being a woman in long-term recovery drives her fierce passion to advocate for others in recovery. As a result, Melissa’s commitment and drive help Royal Life Centers’ guests heal from addiction and grow in sobriety.

Upon entering the treatment field, Melissa Tarasoff-Hood began working in admissions and quickly progressed to business development. In 2019, Melissa joined Royal Life Centers in Washington state. Since then, she has dedicated her time to being a readily available resource to the community and treatment partners. In doing so, her dedication impacts the lives of our guests, alumni, and the community at large.

The drive to improve the lives of others also led Melissa to receive the Mending Broken Hearts certification through White Bison. Using her White Bison certification, she assists in upholding Royal Life Centers’ culturally competent care within our Native American Program. More than anything, Melissa’s genuine compassion comes through in all of her communications and outreach initiatives which carry out Royal Life Centers’ mission on a daily basis.
